Really enjoyed this book. A great read from start to finish. Sat in the garden listening to vinyl and polished it off last weekend in the sun. Heaven. Sad to report that Swordfish (in Birmingham) is closing soon too. Ever thought of making a film about these last shops whilst they're still standing?

Anyway. Congratulations again. I've mentioned the book on my music blog www.thehearingaid.blogspot.comalong with a review of a forthcoming Proper Records release (Dave Rotheray's 'Life of Birds')

Fantastic book, I'm sure someone has told you by now that Alex Welsh (page 245) used to play trumpet and cornet, Oolya-Oolya.

3 questions:
- ISBN?
- year of release?
- how come Proper cds can be ordered by my fave shop in Belgium but not this book?

Hi Graham

"Whispering" Bob Harris mentioned your wonderful book last week at his one man show in Wimborne, Dorset.

Its also being read by Alan Watts who every Thursday has an afternoon show on Radio Caroline and has just mentioned it. So a few anoraks may well be putting it on their Christmas list.

I must get a copy..please Santa!
